Lowe was founded in 1971 to build high value aluminum boats and canoes to fit a familys boating needs. Since then Lowe has created generations of family memories through great times on the water and has developed quite a reputation among experienced boaters for building high quality, yet affordable aluminum boats to suit almost any need. As the years have passed, second and third generations of families have returned to Lowe for more of these great times on the water.
Since Carl and Dianna Lowe founded Lowe Line in 1971, the company has become a technological leader in the aluminum boat market. Through the years Lowe has achieved many milestones that have pushed not only the company, but the entire industry forward:

First model year for Lowe Line, which included 29 models of flat bottom and semi-v jon boats and canoes. |
| 1975 |
|
Lowe Line built first dedicated bass boats; the 15 Stinger and 16 SS Hustler. |
| 1979 |
|
First Lowe Line pontoon boats were produced: 20, 24, and 28 Sunbird entry level pontoons and Monaco upscale pontoons. |
| 1980 |
|
Lowe Line changed name to Lowe Boats. |
| 1982 |
|
Lowe produced first deep-V, the
Lunker III 16. |
| 1988 |
|
Lowe was purchased by Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC). |
| 1992 |
|
Lowe introduced first aluminum
deck boat. |
| 1999 |
|
Lowe integrated Roughneck, Sea Nymph and Suncruiser under the Lowe brand. |
| 2001 |
|
Lowe becomes part of Genmar Holdings following the sale of the OMC boat companies. |
| 2004 |

Brunswick Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, acquires Lowe Boats. Brunswick Boat Group is the worlds largest manufacturer of pleasure boats. |

Today Lowe builds over 100 models of riveted and welded jon, bass, deep-V, deck and pontoon boats, all focused on fishing and the family. With the power of Brunswick behind Lowe, the company continues to be on the forefront of aluminum boat quality and technology.
